Fall Confections

We spread sugar cookies making across three days (somehow we've just been that busy) and today was the best of all: frosting, sprinkles, and eating. Now, a lot of cookies were consumed in the dough stage (giving the kids huge hunks to play with). Once baked more testing was necessary to determine the ideal thickness and crispness (and sampling for quality control by Phil). And then, of course, each frosting and sprinkle combination was heavily sampled by all parties (especially Bryce who ate every single cookie that he frosted).

So this explains why we ended up with a measly small platter post-decoration . . . don't even ask how it looked after dinner. Note, we could never figure out why Deacon went from happy frosting boy to Mr. Super Sad Face--after questioning he asked to be scooted closer to the counter . . . he was just delighted with the frosting process and didn't eat any cookies (though he did lick his fingers quite a bit). And to cap the activity, Bryce unfortunately revisited all the cookies he'd consumed as he was climbing into bed--and thankfully did so in a contained manner, only getting his comforter--he is a neat child.

  1. Lovely cookies boys (and mama). You're welcome to deliver a tray to Gdpa Dan anytime.
