Field Mice

Not really sure what to expect for Mother's Day (especially following an over-the-top Friday night eight course dinner at the fancy french restaurant in town), it was wonderful to hear that we were headed to my favorite, albeit not-so-fancy, place for lunch, the Olive Garden! A not-so-short two hours later (following an hour and half of sitting at church) the boys were surprising still during lunch.
Then we headed to their cousins' house to play; and since the cousins were napping the boys had free reign on the toys. After coffee and catching up we headed Opa's house for more catching up. The boys played pinecones (oh to be kid and be so delightfully entertained by tossing pinecones at a tree). Then came the very not-so-short ride home--where Phil and I strongly desired to trade in the subaru for one of those taxi cabs with a plexiglass sound barrier.
The boys lept from the car and spent the rest of the day outside racing around in the grassy pasture; and rest assured, Deacon is eating a granola bar, not a dandilion.
