Rice & Beans
A friend's blog presented the idea for having kids use a casserole dish of rice as a venue for one-toy-at-a-time quiet winter playtime. Hmmm, enter the McMurray children. Bryce's spot-on monster truck sound track was amazing. He also tried out various animals (pig, bear, etc) who each met a tragic death stuck in the mud.
Meanwhile, Deacon perfected those soup making skills. This is an all time favorite activity for him--he does a running dialogue with me on just what he's making:
Deacon: Mommy, ask me what kind of tomato soup I'm making.
Me: Deacon! What kind of tomato soup are you making?
Deacon: Fluffy tomato soup!
Today, he set the table for everybody to come enjoy his creation. Regrettably, Phil and Bryce were otherwise engaged, so Deacon and I were joined by Patton-the-stuffed-dog, and Sheepie (the stuffed sheep).
