My idea ws sto start working on a new quilt (Dutch Girl Fabrics had a sale, and so I had lots of inspiration), and as good an ideas as that was Phil's idea was better. He loaded up the boys' bikes, various balls and even took us to Big 5 to buy a new basketball and pump (the boys helped by rolling the old basketball down the driveway into the neighbor's yard, and yes Phil tried to run it over). It was a beautiful sunny calm-before-the-storm day (only we didnt' realize it).
The boys raced their bikes and Bryce figured out all sorts cool spinning tricks on his Christmas bike from Opa. Quickly, Deacon's bike morphed into a rather rowdy horse and he was "tossed off" with full sound tracks of screaming and cowboy drama. Somehow though, those large ornamental boulders were calling their names, and soon both boys were atop these new horses--there was even mud. During all this Phil and I were shooting hoops--and that's 'nuff said.
The boys rode to the park where Deacon hauled his bike up the ramp and had it straddled over the entrance to the little slide before Phil and I fully realized just what his plan was. Meanwhile Bryce has discovered that each swing was hovering over a huge mud-puddle, and after the nod from me (who reminds on the way to school not to play in puddles), had enough fun to distract Deacon from his bike-slide plan. We can home so full of sunshine that I was aching for snow!
