Advent Log, Week One

12/1 Advent calendars & chocolate-peanut-butter balls. We also brushed off last year's advent readings, only to realize that we were already behind (by some standards . . . but I won't hold myself up to the Rachel Madson bar!)
12/2 Charlie Brown tree (which, though I can hardy believe it looking at this photo, did look quite full out there amongst the timber--but when one is in twenty-degree weather and one has just realized that the car is unlocked with a tantalizing purse on the front seat, one is prone to make a quick pick).
12/3 Popcorn balls: one of Phil's favorite childhood traditions. Bryce chose orange.
12/4 Christmas jammies. Can we just say that some of the things that thrill Mom are utterly and completely a terrific downer to kids. Deacon was more interested in the tissue paper, and Bryce cooly asked if he could, "go play now".
12/5 Christmas movie: Muppets Christmas Carol. Thankfully, the boys did like this film (unlike White Christmas; which they in concert with Phil madly disdain). And, we also got to meet Nana Judy at Starbucks for hot chocolate and donuts! She brought the boys candy-filled snow-man mini-stockings; can you tell they have good reason to adore Nana!

Christmas is such a delight with kids!
