The stairs have forever been off limits, but last week I starting letting the kids play there. While were were stading by, they climed onto and loved the ugly carpet landing (why these silly landings get carpeted I'll never understand--for the cat's comfort?). And since I can all too easily picture them swinging from and elk horn, the landing is still off limits.
