The Joy of Painting

Bryce usually spends the last hour of rest time in my company, chatting me up at the kitchen counter while I get dinner in the works. Today, Phil was home (helping me get some things in order for our trip this weekend) and he and Bryce were both a little down in the mouth . . . (nb: people who like to be outside do not like intermittent torrential downpours vs. people like me who love anything that explains why they are inside reading or watching What Not to Wear) To combat the melancholy I suggested to Bryce that we break out the watercolor paints from Sarah M. As Phil was there too, I jokingly suggested that he paint too. Not always being one who necessarily knows when to quit, I also got him his own paper, paints, and water dish. Well, all three of us ended up spending a very serene quarter hour, diligent about our work. Phil painted a picture for Bryce of Max, the beta fish. I tested out brush strokes for the pack of extra brushes I'd bought. Bryce spent 30 seconds painting and the 14 and half minutes making his water as "muddy" as he could.

  1. I'm a firm believer that the art box MUST come out on rainy days. :) Glad to see you're finding yours useful! -Sarah
