Happy 3rd Birthday Deacon!

Our two year is now a three year old! Deacon got his first present first thing in the morning: a big, huge truck from Bryce! Wednesday night Grandma Greta and Papa Glen drove down to celebrate both Deacon and Glen's birthdays--which was a great gift in itself, as both boys were so excited the whole day for a visit from the grandparents!

Deacon got a second celebration the next day at Nana Judy's, where we had a party for Deacon and Aunt Chrissy. Deacon got to blow out candles again (and thankfully that time he blew, rather then spit out the candles--but in his defense, balloon candles are hard to blow out).

Back at home Thursday night, Deacon donned his current preferred get-up: sword, belt, and helmet (nb, sometimes the sword is horse and the belt is a saddle) and had a productive sword fight with Phil. Bryce, meanwhile enjoyed one of Deacon's birthday gifts under the cloak of the coffee table, and was an all-around trooper during both festivities--encouraging Deacon as he opened his gifts, and never barging in to rip off the paper. What a great little crew!
